9 DAYS UNTIL BAND CAMP!

Hey! So we have almost a week until band camp and I hope you're all preparing! To all of the rookies, it's going to be harder than you think! Here's a list of everything that you should have by the first day.

1. A water jug. And when I say jug, I mean not a puny little water bottle, but something that will hold enough water to get you through hours out in the HOT sun. And fill them to the top! Trust me, even huge ones are going to be needed to be refilled multiple times! Preferably ones similar to this:
2. Sunscreen. Like I said, we're going to be outside the majority of the day, so sunscreen is a must have no matter if you don't think you burn or not! Because trust me, going through band camp with a sun burn is not fun.

3. Tennis Shoes. These pretty much speak for themselves, marching will be tougher and very uncomfortable without them.

4. Shorts and T-shirts. It's going to be hot, don't go for style, go for comfort! Anyways, everyone's going to be covered in sweat, and no one's going to care how you look.

5. YOUR INSTRUMENT! This also speaks for itself. Also extra reeds.

6. Pencils. Your section leaders will give you drill books and dot books (If you don't know what those are, they'll be explained later) and you're going to need a pencil to keep up with them, as well as notes for music. So it'll be best to be ahead and bring a pencil (and maybe a highlighter or two as well).

That's all for now! Be sure to get plenty of rest and drink LOTS of water!!!! See you all in 9 days!! YAY BAND!

29 days until Band Camp

Hey guys! This will only be a quick update since not much is going on at the moment.

Tokens to everyone who showed up at the DCI movie thing yesterday. It was a cool preview of what we're all going to see live in Atlanta. Which I hope you're all planning on going to! It's going to be amazing!

That's really all I have to say. Just so you guys know the next blog is going to be awesome. Just saying.

Bye

38 DAYS UNTIL BAND CAMP!

Hey woodwinds! This is officially the first post on the woodwind blog this year and there's definitely going to be more to come so keep watch!

Be sure to keep hydrated, get in shape and maybe pick up your instruments at least once, band camp's going to come up sooner than you think!

I hope everyone's going to be able to join us at the DCI trip on July 28th, especially the rookies. This is what really gets everyone pumped for what's to come this year.

One more reminder, be sure not to sign up for the SATs on any competition day. Especially any that have finals. You can check the dates on the calendar on the band home page.

Ok, that's all for now! Can't wait to see you all on the first day of band camp!!!
